I got the chance to design my senior ad for the 2010-2011 senior yearbook.

This is a cool looking poster I did for one of my favorite movies, V for Vendetta. I made it in Photoshop CS5, tell me what you think in the comments section.

This design was done in Photoshop CS5. I’m submitting it to win a competition to be produced as a t-shirt design. If it doesn’t win I have a few people who want to wear the design on a t-shirt anyway so I’ll make it as a t-shirt and offer it up at a place where they can buy it, free advertising eh? I also got a job offer today to be the Head of Design at a corporation that does Joomla web templates for businesses. This is a great opportunity to jump at so I’m really excited. In other news I leave for Portsmouth Naval Base to get my chest x-ray and choose my job for the Navy and I’ll finally be in on Friday, let’s hope nothing goes wrong this time. Don’t forget about Blog Action Day this year either. It’s October 15th, 2010 and the subject hasn’t been announced yet. Now without further ado, or reading, here’s the design in all of it’s glory:

This is the poster I designed for National Blog Day 2010. I decided to change issues this year because I’m pretty sure the one I want to do will be voted down by the popular vote in the end. There are a lot of people who visit my blog who support the same things I do who want to see the Islam and anti-war posters (I know who you are you emailed me a while back) and other posters about various issues. I’ve been having a bit of difficulty posting them, so they won’t be posted for a while. I have the National Blog Day 2010 poster I made that discusses which issue I decided to tackle. I chose the AIDS crisis because back when I had the internet readily available to me I spent a lot of free time watching activism videos in Vimeo’s Activism category. Vimeo is a youtube-like website that hosts a different kind of video. While Youtube is more geared towards home videos and music videos Vimeo is geared towards design videos and motion graphics and videos with an advocacy purpose. I chose the Aids crisis because of those videos. I didn’t understand the gravity of the situation until I watched a few of those mini-documentaries on there. You’ll see a post this October about what I’ve learned about the AIDS crisis and what I think we can do to help. The photograph is courtesy of NASA. I used Photoshop CS5 and this is the first time I’ve ever used any of it’s 3D rendering capabilities so tell me what you think. Also, if you host your own blog, tell me what issue you voted for. I hope the AIDS crisis wins, if it doesn’t then I’ll do the winning topic and the AIDS crisis as a subtopic.

This is a poster I made to promote recycling, something I’ll probably be doing soon, I just have to get my hands on the recycling bin. I’m trying to make a series of posters on climate change and other issues instead of just making random stuff. I’ve gotten better reactions from most people on them. I made this and my last three designs in Photoshop CS5. The poster is 8.5” x 11”. Tell me what you think in the comments!

I made this poster recently to show how war effects all of us. We see a different side of the war than others do. The BBC censors the war footage they show and America censors far more than other countries do. They will not show a lot of the violence that happens over seas so people think the war is a lot less extreme than it really is.

We live in a world with skies no longer blue. People with asthma suffer in large cities like New York City and Los Angeles. We have pollution on a catastrophic scale and we continue to do nothing about it. Soldiers in Iraq die for our oil, even more citizens of Iraq die for our oil. The picture I’m posting below is what I hope to be an inspiring poster to other who are against crude oil and a mind changer to those who aren’t. We have dozens of good alternatives and a government more than willing to help us change it. Now is the time when we should do something about our dependency on oil. This is something I did in my free time. I found the picture online and decided to make one of my own. The only problem with Photoshop CS5 is that you have to load brushes through the program. In PS CS5 you could paste the brush into the brushes folder and it would show up under the name of the file. In CS5 the brushes are all thrown together in one window, it’s very disorganized. Anyway, tell me what you think of this picture, I think it’s alright.
