Remember what the first 8 years of the 21st century did to America, let’s let the next 8 be prosperous and peaceful. I haven’t forgotten, have you?

We live in a world with skies no longer blue. People with asthma suffer in large cities like New York City and Los Angeles. We have pollution on a catastrophic scale and we continue to do nothing about it. Soldiers in Iraq die for our oil, even more citizens of Iraq die for our oil. The picture I’m posting below is what I hope to be an inspiring poster to other who are against crude oil and a mind changer to those who aren’t. We have dozens of good alternatives and a government more than willing to help us change it. Now is the time when we should do something about our dependency on oil. Please tweet and share on Facebook this poster I made in Photoshop.
In today’s political climate we have a polarized two party system, the Liberal side: Democrats, and the Conservative side: Republicans. A big issue in the voter’s minds currently is economics. There have been many presidents on both sides of the political spectrum who have been beneficial to our economy, President Bill Clinton and President Ronald Reagan are two notable ones. What I aim to do with this project is use Sim Cities 4 to test our Conservative Supply Side Economics versus Liberal Economics. We see Obama spending a lot of money these days on plans that have been working, new jobs being created due to the highway reconstruction portion of the Stimulus Bill he passed early on in his presidency, but we also saw huge economic improvement under Reagan until the Cold War.
Many times Liberals (Democrats) are blamed for spending too much, but they always get the job done. At the same time we see Republicans getting blamed for wasting money on things like the war in Iraq, totally not needed (I’m going to be blunt on my feelings of the Iraq war here). We’re going to see, once and for all, which side does a better job. To keep things fair and balanced, I have a friend who is going to teach me more about Conservative economics, such as Reagan ran, not the crap McCain pushed during his campaign. I’m going to run my city like Bill Clinton ran our economy in 1992-2000 and we’re going to see which side does better. I was considering putting a Moderate society in, but that would just gum up the works so we’re going to keep this competition strictly left versus right.
I’ll be posting the results at the end of each week and a summary at the end of each month. Depending on how well this goes I might have Dave (my Conservative Republican friend out in Oklahoma) use Skype’s screen sharing option with me and I’ll record it so you guys know it’s fair. He might also write a little excerpt each week and end of the month saying everything went well, print it, sign it, and finally scan it so I can put it in here as an image.
I hope you all enjoy this demonstration I’ll be putting on, I’ll try to end it some time around August when I get back into school, the results will be totally unbiased. Oh, one last thing, in case you’re wondering, I’m pulling heavily for the Liberal Economics and Dave will be pulling heavily for the Conservative Supply Side Economics.
It’s always been seen throughout the years that Democrats have been better for our country fiscally, there’s even a page in our school yearbook with charts about it so maybe I’ll put that in here later. This chart I’m posting on here shows how the economy has rebounded under the Obama administration.
